A little over 7 years ago, members of the Southington and Cheshire business communities sat together and expressed their displeasure with their current banking choices. Bank mergers were prevalent all across the Northeast, and their communities had not been spared. Bankers they had been doing business with for years were no longer behind their desks, only to be replaced with newly transferred employees who did not understand their needs or businesses. Friendly, personalized service was soon replaced by more efficient and "quicker" telephone call centers. Standardized products with updated fee structures and costs replaced their unique and personalized accounts. The business leaders left that meeting, vowing to make a change for the better. The seed for Apple Valley Bank & Trust Company was planted.

In March 2001, this small seed became a seedling, and Apple Valley Bank & Trust Company was born. Over the past years, our Bank has faced many challenges and is finally blossoming. In October 2006, we opened a new branch in Wallingford. In 2007, our goal of a "cornerstone" office in Southington, as well as online, internet banking became a reality.
